Record Information Management Fundamentals On-Demand Course

Registration for this program is currently closed. Registration will open up again in 2024.

Recorded information management, or “records management,” is so much more than “filing.” It serves a vital administrative function by supporting and promoting management accountability, compliance, and effectiveness. Business records are essential assets. They can protect an organization from litigation or expose it to litigation. Local government records can become evidence in courts of law, used for government investigations, or in other legal proceedings.

Taken in tandem with the FOI Fundamentals and Privacy Fundamentals courses, this self-paced course will help you understand both the importance of good records management in your organization and your role and the roles of others in ensuring that business records are managed effectively. Course participants will also learn more about in-depth reference tools for records management, such as the LGMA Records Management Manual, and have an opportunity to attend a live “Ask the Experts” panel as part of the course.

Course Format: This 3-module online course is self-paced, or on-demand, meaning you can work your way through the content at your own pace, at any time. Each module contains key information, knowledge checks, and best practice approaches compiled by the FOI/RM Advisory Committee and reviewed by leading subject matter experts to ensure an engaging, relevant learning experience. Self-paced learning will be complemented by an “Ask the Experts” Panel.

Cost: $350 LGMA member; $425 Non-member + GST
