Following a call for applications, the LGMA is pleased to announce that Bob Payette, Chief Administrative Officer for the District of Metchosin, was selected by the LGMA Board of Directors as the successful candidate for the 2024/2025 Overseas Exchange Program. 

This two-week exchange is one of a range of LGMA initiatives that provides leadership and development opportunities specifically tailored to the local government environment. Exchange partners have the opportunity to share best practices, establish long-lasting relationships, and gain professional, personal, and cultural experience that can be applied at their own local governments and as they move through their careers. 

Bob will visit New Zealand in September 2024 to attend the Taituarā Annual Conference (September 11-13 in Auckland) and to visit local governments in that country. In return, Bob will host his partner from New Zealand, Morag Taimalietane, Principal Advisor Customer and Community Kaitohutohu Matua Kiritaki me te Haporifor for two weeks in 2025 to attend the LGMA Conference (June 17-19 in Richmond) and visit local governments in British Columbia.
