Invigorate Your Leadership February 18-20, 2025 Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, Victoria, BC Registration is limited to CAOs, appointed Deputy CAOs and Executive Director CEOs of Affiliate Members. CAO Forum sessions can be used towards Continuous Professional Learning credits. The CAO Forum is an annual offering for local government Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) to meet with their colleagues and discuss issues of mutual concern in a congenial atmosphere. The 2025 Forum is designed to invigorate CAOs leadership strengths to include good governance, labour negotiations, self-compassion, navigating Indigenous engagement, and HR trends. A pre-forum workshop on 'Your Employment as a CAO' is also offered through a separate registration and pricing. Review the program brochure and register online before February 4, 2025. Early Bird registration rates until December 31, 2024. member rate: $770 + GST / non-member rate: $895 + GST Regular registration rates starting January 1, 2025 member rate: $870 + GST / non-member rate: $945 + GST Off-site dinner is included in the forum fee, but participants can purchase an $80 ticket for their spouse or companion when they register. 2025 CAO Dinner Sunday, September 21, 2025 Location TBC, Victoria, BC Registration is not yet available for this event. Please review the following event information for reference, and reach out to office@lgma.ca i f you would like to be added to an interested list. The LGMA will hold a CAO Dinner as a chance to connect with colleagues during UBCM week in Victoria, BC. The LGMA is proud to carry forward and facilitate a space for peer-learning that was originally championed by CAOs within the sector. Hosted by LGMA President, Douglas Holmes and long-standing member, Ron Poole. CAOs and Deputy CAOs are invited to attend with partners and spouses. This is a networking dinner.

Corporate Officer Forum SAVE THE DATE October 1-3, 2025 Penticton Lakeside Resort, Penticton, BC The program for the 2025 forum is under development. Attendance is reserved for Corporate Officers and Deputy Corporate Officers only. Since 2006, this educational offering has focused on emerging trends and legal and legislative changes of relevance to BC local government Corporate Officers. The 2024 Forum will feature local government experts to support you as a key trusted officer, tasked with safeguarding information and providing service to elected officials, staff, and the public. Administrative Professionals Conference SAVE THE DATE November 5-7, 2025 Richmond Convention Centre, Richmond, BC This program is currently under development and registration has not yet opened. Please review the following event information for reference, and reach out to office@lgma.ca i f you would like to be added to an interested list. If you are an Executive Assistant, Office Coordinator, Supervisor, Clerk or Front-line staff working in BC local or First Nations government organizations, this conference has been designed for you. Opportunities to network with peers, discuss important issues of common concern and develop strategies to address them, plus a few wellness activities will be included. 2025 Program Fees: Early Bird Rate: $962.50 + GST Regular Rate: $1,017.50 + GST Hotel Accommodations: $285 + taxes per night stay LGMA has negotiated a group rooming block and once registration opens, the booking link for accommodations will be available. First Nations & Local Government Land Use Planning Regional Workshop November 12-14, 2024 Thunderbird Hall, Campbell River, BC Program Eligibility: This program is open to planners, administrators, and land use managers working in First Nations and local governments on Vancouver Island and Coast region and is open to attendees from this region only. In the spirit of collaboration and knowledge-sharing, we encourage CAOs and Planners interested in this workshop to reach out and invite Band Managers and Land Use Managers from the First Nation communities they work with to attend the workshop together. First Nation staff are eligible for bursaries. Since 2016, the Local Government Management Association (LGMA) and First Nations Public Service Secretariat (FNPSS) have been developing opportunities for collaboration and peer support in the area of land use planning. Since BC’s adoption of the Declaration Act (DRIPA) in 2019, there have never been better opportunities for collaboration and relationship building between First Nations and local government administrators. The LGMA and FNPSS will be offering a total of three regional workshops, starting from the Vancouver Island region. The first regional workshop will be held on November 13 and 14, 2024 on the traditional territory of the Wei Wai Kum First Nation, in Campbell River, B.C., where currently there are several positive and fruitful working relationships between BC First Nations and local governments. Through this workshop, the LGMA and FNPSS wish to support these existing relationships and facilitate new connections and understanding between First Nations and local governments on land use frameworks. Seats are limited to 25 First Nations and 25 Local Government employees Fees (lunch included): $670 +GST for early bird registration until October 1 $710 +GST for registration from October 2 to November 4 Registration fees will remain the same for members and non-members. NOTE: The regional workshops for the Interior BC and Northern BC regions will take place in 2025 and 2026, which will be open to attendees from those regions.
