Access Local Government Discussion Forums from our friends at Civic Info BC!

If you ALREADY HAVE A LOGIN for a different forum(s) on the CivicForum discussion boards:

• Send an email to admin@civicforum.ca, and request access to the discussion forum you are interested in and are qualified to join (for example, the “Human Resources Connect, LGMA BC” forum if you are an HR professional). The forum will be added to your existing profile, and no further action is necessary.

• If you’re uncertain about whether you already have login credentials, attempt a password reset by clicking the “Forgotten your password?” link near the bottom right of the CivicForum.ca home page. You may also email admin@civicforum.ca for assistance.

If you DO NOT have an existing login for the CivicForum discussion boards:

• Go to the CivicForum page. The CivicForum platform is simple, open-source discussion board software hosted by CivicInfo BC.

• Click the Register link in the top navigation. Agree to the platform’s standard Registration Agreement.

• Fill out the registration page. The example screen shot below is for selecting the “Human Resources Connect – LGMA BC.”

• If you wish to receive email notifications, we recommend setting your Default Thread Subscription Mode to “Instant Email Notification”. You may also adjust your subscription preferences once you are logged in, and inside the discussion forum. Please note: Some ISPs and local government cyber security platforms block the email notifications. We cannot guarantee delivery, and we regret that we are not able to assist with related internal trouble-shooting efforts.

• Your request to join will be reviewed and processed in approximately 1 business day. (All registrations are manually reviewed to ensure that no bots or spammers are admitted to the group, approvals are not automatic.)
