The spring 2024 issue of Exchange Magazine is available now, Public Engagement in the Age of Misinformation.  The level of bullying and harassment we see today online was unheard of in former years. It’s why so many of us are asking, how do we approach communications and public engagement in an era of conspiracy theories, misinformation and threats to personal safety? How do we approach our communication strategies when a small percentage of the community are dominating the conversation online and in public and private spaces? Local government leaders are already facing budget pressures and increased legislative requirements from the province. On top of that is the struggle to refute misinformation and manage threats of violence to staff.
